展示風景

This time, I will be holding my second solo exhibition at Ginza Ippodo.
There are many restrictions on the shape, glaze, and even uses of Tenmoku tea bowls.
I was always thinking about what I could express in the future.
The theme of this exhibition is yellow, which represents happiness. Yellow was also used in ancient China.
Considered a noble color, the rich yellow glaze is simple yet has the flavor of matcha.
It brings out the green color perfectly. There are also other designs such as golden Tenmoku and
I had the opportunity to explore further possibilities of Tenmoku, such as ash covering.
We hope you will take a look.

Noriyuki Furutani

Furutani Noriyuki, who has been working on Tenmoku tea bowls ever since he saw the National Treasure Yuteki Tenmoku at the Museum of Oriental Ceramics in Osaka at the age of 18, began making yellow-glazed tea bowls two or three years ago.
This time, I was inspired by the golden Tenmoku tea bowl that Toyotomi Hideyoshi once donated to Daigoji Temple.
You can feel his challenge in everything he makes, starting with the tea bowl.
In these times of chaos in the world, we want you to experience the yellow tea bowl of happiness.
