Artist's comment

It has been about 12 years since I started making pink works, and as I have learned more about the color, I have gradually come to think of it as a symbol of humanity , projecting my own inner greed and karma.
For my first solo exhibition at Ippodo, I used peach as a motif. Peach has been one of my themes for a long time, and I hope you can feel the early spring.

Comment from Ippodo

Peach Festival will soon be upon us.
Since ancient times, peaches have been used as a fruit to ward off evil spirits and to ensure longevity, and their lovely flowers have been gorgeously offered to the Hina dolls.
When I first touched Ms. Hoshino's peach-colored teacups, their gentle color and shape were like a lovely peach, with a sweet fragrance wafting through the air.
It seems that the color pink is not such a simple thing for the maker.
The unique ceramics at the Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition and the Kikuchi Biennale have been attracting people.
The “World of Peach Color” at Ippodo features works in the color of happiness.
