Ohi Chozaemon XI

Ohi Chozaemon XI

Born in 1958 in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, where he currently resides.
Ohi ware has a history of over 350 years. Therefore, Ohi Toshio's work is based on tradition. However, the question is how to understand tradition and make it contemporary. He is trying to modernize tradition through travel. By considering his own work as one with the local workshops he conducts while meeting many people in unfamiliar places, he aims to share his work, convey techniques, and open up tradition.
