展会风光

The cicadas have started to sing. After a long rainy season and a hot summer, autumn has arrived with its beautiful moon.
Ippodo's annual tea ceremony exhibition ‘Moonlit Night Tea Ceremony’ is now in its 20th year. In May this year, a new emperor acceded to the throne and the first year of the ‘2025’ era arrived. What kind of era will ‘2022’ be?
Ippodo will undergo a major change this autumn. The basement warehouse will be converted into a Japanese-style space and a members-only ‘Ippodo Club’ will be opened, and the Hojo-an tearoom on Gotenyama will finally be put into action.
The themes for this year's event are ‘Nozomu’, the imperial theme for next year's Imperial New Year's Poetry Festival, and ‘Zi’, the beginning of the twelve signs of the Chinese zodiac.
While the world situation and the structure of society are changing at super-express speed, may the tranquillity and beauty of ‘preparing a bowl of tea with all one's heart’ continue for a long time. Come to think of it, the Shinkansen bullet train is also a super-express ‘Nozomi’, isn't it? What kind of ‘Nozomi’ will gather at Ippodo?
Ippodo is proud to present a line-up of tea ceremony utensils created by artists.
