Katsumi Satake

Born in Nara in 1950
1977: While working in architectural and machinery design, he was attracted to the wide range of uses and flexibility of lacquer, and began to teach himself how to make lacquerware for furniture and tableware.
1978: Started caring for my grandmother and two others
2004: The long life of nursing comes to an end
2023: With the onset of COVID-19 in 2020, and the long hours spent at home during this pandemic, I made a black tea bowl and vase using the traditional Japanese design technique, something I had been hoping to achieve for a long time.
