I will be 77 years old this year, which would make me an old man in the olden days.
It's not that we stop playing because we get older, but rather that we get older because we stop playing.
Let's all play together.
In the culture of the tea ceremony, prized utensils such as the tea caddy, tea bowl, flower vase, and tea scoop are given names.
I have never heard of people naming spoons in foreign countries.
A bamboo spatula acts as the orchestra's conductor's baton for the day.
Please come and listen to our concert at the Ginza Ippodo Theater.
The inscription on the tea scoop on the day will be "Century of Winds."
This old man will be turning on the kettle on October 7th and 8th.

Tea scoops on the street
It seems like we've both grown old without even realizing it, but when we first met, I asked him the meaning of the name Quxiang.
Just like a teacher at school teaches his students, Kaida-sensei tells them, "There are many different things to do in the streets - in society. To play and to learn..."
To me, the word "streets" sounded mature and like something from another world.
Indeed, Professor Kaida has a wealth of knowledge he has learned from the streets, and when he looks at a single piece of bamboo, he senses its various expressions and creates a beautiful tea scoop with an intellectual inscription or humorous name.
Sometimes Chinese poetry pops up, and sometimes even Western poems pop up.
On top of that, the suit is made of beautiful old cloth.
Professor Kaida's world must have been a noble and profound world of tea ceremony!
Lately he looks like Kumagai Morikazu with a white beard, but he's already an old man.
I'm looking forward to my first solo exhibition in a long time.

Born in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1946
1960: Became familiar with the tea ceremony around this time
1969: While studying at Waseda University, he held a tea ceremony in Australia as a Japanese-Australian exchange student.
1980: Started carving tea scoops on his own
1992: First tea scoop exhibition in Aoyama, Tokyo
1995 Tea scoop exhibition at the Hatakeyama Memorial Museum in Tokyo
1996 Tea scoop exhibition held in Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka
1997: A tea scoop with the name "Soshin" is used at the "Korin Kenzan Memorial Tea Ceremony" held at the Atami City MOA Museum of Art.
1997 Tea scoop exhibition at the Takehisa Yumeji Memorial Museum in Ikaho
1999: Published the limited edition book "Chashaku Sanjuun" by Kaita Kyoko (Kyuryudo)
