Exhibition view

Queen Elizabeth of England always had brooches shining on her colorful dresses.
At some point, women seemed to stop wearing brooches.

Akio Mori opened the Don Morris Jewelry Shop in Mejiro in 1968, and for 55 years has been adorning the ears and chests of actresses such as Fubuki Koshiji's stage jewelry, Tetsuko Kuroyanagi, and Mitsuko Kusabue.
He created many original pieces of jewelry that combined the essence of Paris with the mastery of Japanese craftsmanship, and left behind many more, before suddenly passing away to far away heaven in 2020.
During his lifetime, he apparently visited Europe frequently and collected cameos.
It is said that Napoleon loved cameos and gathered cameo craftsmen from Italy to carve portraits of royalty and aristocrats.

This time, the cameos will be on display, along with brooches and necklaces made of ivory and tortoiseshell with gold lacquer.
I would like to remember Akio Mori and feel his lingering scent.
