Comment from Ippodo

Blessed with nature, 70% of Japan’s land is covered by forests. While bamboo, which grows in warm regions, has long been a familiar material, past masters elevated bamboo craft to the realm of art. Timber harvested from coniferous and broad-leaved forests has had the memory of its material revived through time and technique, becoming magnificent art. One can hear the voices of the trees and the breath of the bamboo.
