1952 Born in Haneda, Tokyo
1972 Studied under bamboo artist Iizuka Shokansai (Living National Treasure)
1976: Set up a studio in Sunamachi, Koto Ward, Tokyo and began making bamboo crafts.
1988 Moved the workshop to Tateyama, Chiba Prefecture
1996 July-August: Five-person exhibition on the theme of bamboo at Felissimo in New York
2001 April Solo exhibition at Tokyo Daimaru
2003 Solo exhibition at 'Kangetsuan' in Shiroyama Park, Tateyama City, broadcast by NHK
2004 Solo exhibition at Ginza Ippodo
Winner of the Kotsuen Bamboo Prize and the runner-up award, exhibited at the San Francisco Asian Art Museum
2007: Won the Newcomer Award at the 54th Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition
2008: Winner of the Tokyo Governor's Award at the 48th Eastern Japan Traditional Crafts Exhibition
2009 Invited to exhibit at 'New Bamboo - Contemporary Japanese Masters' at Oita Prefectural Art Center
2011 Exhibited at the Living National Treasure Iizuka Kokansai Exhibition in Ota City, Gunma Prefecture, "From my Father Kokansai to his Disciples" and gave a lecture on bamboo crafts.
2012 'Modern Tea Ceremony' Selected for exhibition at the Kikuchi Kanjitsu Museum of Art, Toranomon, Tokyo
2013 Tochigi Kuranomachi Museum "The Birth of Modern Bamboo Crafts" Exhibition
Moved to Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture
2014: Received the Japan Crafts Association Chairman's Award at the 61st Japanese Traditional Crafts Exhibition
2017 Solo exhibition at Ippodo New York
2019: Exhibited a collaborative piece made of leather and bamboo with LOEWE (a Spanish fashion brand) at Milan Design Week
