葉山有樹

Yuki Hayama

Born in Arita Town, Saga Prefecture in 1961 (Showa 36).
At the age of 15, he joined an Arita pottery studio and learned ceramics manufacturing, including painting.
In 1985 (Showa 61), at the age of 23, he became independent and opened his own kiln in Yamauchi Town, Saga Prefecture.
In 1990, he held his first solo exhibition at the ANA Hotel Hakata. Since then, he has held numerous solo exhibitions in major cities across Japan.
In May 2007, the "A Pattern Odyssey Yuki Hayama Exhibition" was held at the Spiral Garden in Omotesando, Tokyo.
The exhibition toured to the Design Museum in Helsinki, Finland from October of the same year to January 2008.
Based on Hayama's creative approach, the local curator chose the title of the exhibition "Ceramics story YUKI HAYAMA EXHIBITION."
For about half a year from June 2007, he was invited as a visiting designer to the Arabia Art Department of Iittala, located in the suburbs of Helsinki, to write and produce works in conjunction with an exhibition.
The works he produced are currently on display at the Arabia Museum and the Design Museum.
