Rakufurin was founded by the founder, Takeshi Horie, who was respected and admired in the Nishijin obi world.
The third generation, he is a unique and high-quality obi craftsman who preserves tradition.
Katsuyama Takeshi is the fifth generation owner of Nishijin Katsuyama Textiles, which was founded at the end of the 19th century.
In pursuit of the original transparency, lightness, and luster of silk that has been passed down since ancient times,
Silkworm rearing, weaving, dyeing, twisting... the ultimate attention to detail in every process
They weave breathtakingly beautiful, translucent fabrics.
This time, we are doing a project with Reiko Horie from Rakufurin for the first time in a while.
I have watched her work and her growth.
The special world of Rakufurin and Takeshi Katsuyama. Summer kimonos and obi are also on display.

He is the fifth generation owner of Katsuyama Textiles, which was founded in Nishijin, Kyoto at the end of the 19th century.
A workshop in Iijima-machi, Kamiina-gun, Nagano Prefecture that can produce silk fabrics from sericulture, dyeing, and weaving.
We have two textile workshops in Keihoku and Shuzan, Ukyo Ward, Kyoto City. We produce silk textiles at two locations.
The Keihoku weaving studio was established in 1965.
Mainly producing fabrics and kimonos.
Nagano workshop was established in 2002.
We mainly repair silk fabrics and kimonos designated as national treasures and important cultural properties.
In 2021, Akira Shimura, head of the Nagano workshop, was certified as a "Selected Preservation Technique Holder" by the Agency for Cultural Affairs under the Cultural Properties Protection Act.
Afterwards, the company started the Katsuyama Textile and Silk Weaving Research Institute, producing repair cloth for the repair of cultural properties.
