Exhibition view

With the fragrant breezes in this weather, I hope you are all in good health and spirits.
For this solo exhibition, I reconsidered the original art of craftsmanship, which applies to both East and West, and created works that incorporate the practice of open-air firing of terracotta in England.
I hope that by searching for the invisible heart through tangible sculpture, and by being able to see it, I can create a work that will help bring peace to the world.
We hope you will take a look.

Kishino, Sho

Kishino Tsuyoshi carves from old wood from historic temples and shrines, as well as driftwood, and his works seem to quietly tell the stories and history of the wood.
He says that in his younger days, he was deeply touched by the expression of Giacometti, whose works are stripped down to their bare essentials, and compassion emerges from the emptiness.
At art fairs in Chicago and London, and at his solo exhibition at Ippodo New York, he impressed people overseas with the beauty of minimalism that is so characteristic of Japan, leaving a lingering impression.
