"To shoot down a flying bird." What powerful words!
The origin of the name "Flying Bird Exhibition" comes from here, with the birds representing the artists and the ones dropping them representing the collectors.
We believe that in order to preserve high-quality Japanese culture and pass it on to the next generation, it is important to "live and create now."
The sensitivity and aesthetic sense that Japanese people have in sensing the four seasons is something they can be most proud of in the world in terms of food, clothing, and shelter, and people overseas are beginning to realize this.
Ippodo aims to discover young artists and send talented artists onto the world stage, thereby revitalizing their creative drive, confidence, and pride, and enabling them to pursue their dreams and livelihoods at the same time.
This time, the Flying Bird Masters will be held at one of the world's best golf courses, Augusta in the United States.
It is inspired by the Masters, the stage where top-class golfers compete.
The 11 people featured this time include those who are already making waves overseas and have garnered attention, as well as those who have just one step to go. We hope you will enjoy their masterpieces.
I would like to ask everyone to vote for the best work among them, and have the artist with the most votes on the final day wear a green jacket, but is that going too far?
Those who choose the work will also be entered into a lottery to win a commemorative prize.
We welcome you to participate as part of the Masters gallery.
