The theme for this year's poetry gathering is "Dreams." It is also the imperial theme for next year's New Year poetry gathering. In Japan, dreams are associated with transience, like the "Butterfly Dream," while in America, dreams are associated with powerful hope, like the famous words of Martin Luther King, "I have a dream."
