Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout
This is a collection of works by lacquerware artist Ikeda Terumasa.
This is a fascinating collection of approximately 200 works, from his early works to his latest works, with 240 stitched pages.
Ikeda is known for his innovative work that incorporates modern scientific technologies such as laser processing and ultrasonic vibration into the decorative technique of raden, which dates back to the Nara period and involves attaching the mother-of-pearl layer of abalone and other shells to lacquerware.
The most distinctive of these are the designs featuring numbers, which are new in that they use numbers, symbols that can be understood by anyone around the world, instead of the traditional designs of flowers, birds, wind, and the moon.
Furthermore, he has cut integrated circuits and pixels into tiny pieces of shell and incorporated them into his work, establishing a unique expression that intersects "digital and natural" and "organic and inorganic."
This collection of works covers Ikeda's works from his early period to his latest work, released in 2025.
