Exhibition view

My first solo exhibition in a long time at Ginza Ippodo was a two-person exhibition with my partner.
Since my last solo exhibition, I have had to limit my private creative work for a while.
Also, at the beginning of this year, we had a major incident where my partner Nishida-san and other people involved in the production were affected by the earthquake.
Some of the works use lacquered lids that were sent from Wajima two days before the earthquake.
I hope you will enjoy the works that are filled with a variety of emotions.

Takeuchi Ruri

Nishita Ceramics was established in 1998 and has since been supplying base materials to Kutani ware artists.
I have known Mr. Takeuchi for 13 years now. Every day was a constant process of trial and error.
I am grateful that I was given this opportunity to work behind the scenes.
In recent years, there have been environmental changes and natural disasters, but I hope you will enjoy the current works that have overcome these challenges.

Kenji Nishita

Kanazawa is the birthplace of Kutani ware and many fine pieces have been preserved.
Kenji Nishita was born into a family of clay craftsmen and trained at Myosen Pottery Studio, learning molding and molding, and is now one of the most trusted figures in Kutani.
His white porcelain finish has become the basis for the work of famous ceramic artist and partner Ruri Takeuchi.
Takeuchi Ruri has been exhibiting at Ippodo tea ceremony utensil exhibitions for a long time.
Her delicate brushwork with glazes and elegant sense of color are the highlights of this exhibition, which is her first collaboration with Nishita Kenji. The exhibition will center around wisteria flowers, and feature tea utensils with a seasonal Japanese feel, including water jars, tea bowls, and incense burners.
