1940
He was born in Hagi City, Yamaguchi Prefecture as the eldest son of the 11th generation Miwa Kyusetsu (Jusetsu).
1967 Graduated from the Graduate School of Tokyo University of the Arts, Department of Ceramics
1974: Opened a kiln in Ueno, Hagi city
1977: Became a professor at Hagi Women's Junior College.
1979: Joined the International Ceramic Art Academy
1989: Received the Japan Ceramic Society Award
1993: Founded the Hagi Potters Association and became its first chairman
1999 China Culture Award
2003 Succession of the name of the 12th Miwa Kyusetsu
2007
"25th Anniversary of Friendship Relations between Shandong Province, China and Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan: Miwa Kyusetsu Ceramic Art Exhibition" (Shandong Provincial Museum, Shandong Province, China)

2011 Japan Ceramic Society Gold Award
In 2019, he retired and took the name "Ryūkisei."
