Hiroshi Goseki

Blue-and-black round bowl

C27924

Hiroshi Goseki studied earth and fire as a disciple of Isezaki Jun, a Living National Treasure of Bizen ware. He now cuts down trees in the forests deep in the mountains of Ibaraki with a chainsaw, turns them into firewood, and fires them in an anagama kiln. He continues to strive to create pottery that will last for hundreds, even thousands of years.
